Just wanted to get a post up to round up what has been a full on year for us (although don’t expect any Best of 2011 lists!). I wanted to give an overview of what Leo and myself have been up to over the last 12 months….
Actually make that 12 and a half months as we officially launched Greenmoney Recordings in December 2010 with the release of Mista Men’s What You Do To Me/Hold On. This has been followed up with releases from ourselves, HardHouse Banton, Major Notes and as well as a second EP from Mista Men. Shouts go out to C.R.S.T, French Fries, Cubic Zirconia and Funkystepz for stepping up on remix duties!
We hit the 8th release in December 2011 with our own Greenmoney Dubs Vol 2 and just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone that has supported music on our label over the past 12 months, it hasn’t gone unnoticed!
In case you have missed any of them you can check all the releases here
On a production level as Greenmoney we’ve also had a super busy year with the release of 2 instrumental EPs, a single with the ubiquitous Roses Gabor and 10 commissioned remixes for artists including CockNBullKid, Gyptian, Zed Bias and Tawiah. Again if you missed any of them most are now available and you can track our year’s production here.
So we finish of 2011 on a high and once again thanks to everyone that we’ve worked with and all that have supported us over the last 12 months with a special shout to Smutlee for the label artwork!
Keep em peeled for the next wave of material…2012 soon come!
We’re going to sign out with this absolute classic from one of the year’s departed legends, Gil Scott Heron (also look out for the recent cover of this by Drake and the version that appeared on Gil’s last album with Jamie XX)
Happy New Year to all.
Alex & Leo
